With testosterone levels continuously dropping as the years go by, men are looking for different ways to naturally and unnaturally raise their T levels. Recently, a video went viral that had Tucker Carlson and a guest discussing the use of red-light therapy, also known as infrared light therapy, on men’s testicles.

To many, this probably sounds crazy and/or pointless. Is there any scientific backing to this theory? Could infrared light raise testosterone levels?

The Idea of Testicle Tanning is Controversial Regarding Effectiveness

All you’re doing is shining a red light on your testicles, or better yet, your whole body or full-body infrared tanning. It’s not just the testicles that will benefit.

What does the science say about these benefits? There isn’t much science. You won't find much if you search the academic databases for this topic. One study focuses on red light and chemotherapy in rat testicles, and others involve shining infrared on sperm. Not much to go on there. Self-published books cure almost all diseases, but this cannot be true.

Essentially, red light on testicles, especially regarding raising testosterone levels, has not been researched. So where are loads of research the guy on Tucker Carlson’s show is talking about? It seems to be nonexistent.

Clinical Uses of Red-Light Therapy

Some studies are looking at red light therapy and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) because red light can penetrate deeper into the skin than other wavelengths. Light, especially sunlight, has been known for a long time to improve depression and anxiety.

There has been a lot of research showing that infrared light affects skin issues like eczema, wrinkles, and warts. Another possibility is aiding in the treatment of prostate cancer. However, with all of these studies, the science is still not quite there. It is still inconclusive.

It seems that red light therapy is safe to use, it shouldn’t cause any problems, but it isn’t going to do anything like raise your testosterone levels if they are low. The only cure for low testosterone is to naturally raise it through lifestyle improvements such as nutrition and certain types of exercise, or if this does not work, testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).

Something like red light therapy is just not compelling enough or even effective at all. Do not waste your time and money – consider contacting our clinic to get your testosterone levels checked to see if they are deficient (first step). If they are, we have proven methods of increasing testosterone in men (and even women, if necessary).

Men have found that improving their eating habits and engaging in strength training has excellent hormone benefits and will help to balance any hormonal imbalances they might have, such as with human growth hormone (HGH) or testosterone.

TRT is also convenient and easy to begin. There are many testosterone injections to choose from, as well as patches, gels, and creams if injections are not your thing. Do your research and consider getting tested today!
